We used Brendan’s custom led controler to create this effect. The controller allows him to use two led’s at once.
It’s always nice to spin orbs near water, you get those nice reflections 🙂
Orbs work well in a variety of places, in this shot I have used an old gun platform from the last 1800’s. 🙂
Recently I created a custom LED controller that allows me to control two orbs at once, with easy press buttons I can turn either or both LED’s on for interesting effects. With quick swap out LED’s I can also use any color combination.
El Wire, or Electroluminescent wire can be used in many ways for light painting, and it makes a great Orb when spun, particularly if it has a controller than can be set to strobe.
Here is a shot I did recently using a custom built orb-er using an old bike wheel and some odds and ends from around the house. (I’ll post the design soon).
Picking your Orb location is very important and can easily make or break the photo. I guess for those starting out any location will do for their first orb’s and I see a lot of backyard shots. Once you have your technique down it’s important to start thinking about your shooting location, and just as importantly where to place the orb, what color to use and how big and dense…
