Picking your Orb location is very important and can easily make or break the photo. I guess for those starting out any location will do for their first orb’s and I see a lot of backyard shots.
Once you have your technique down it’s important to start thinking about your shooting location, and just as importantly where to place the orb, what color to use and how big and dense to make it.
Here is an example where the location was thought about, so I would have some nice rocks to spin on, as well as the background subject matter (an Aurora with Patch), and just as importantly the color of the orb. In this case a nice neutral color.
